God met with His people in the Old Testament through one High Priest entering the Holy of Holies to make a sacrifice for the sins of the people. It was never holy enough or perfect enough. Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh, and became the perfect atonement once and for all. He came to earth resolute in His mission to conquer sin and heal the sick. On the darkest day in history, the veil of His flesh was torn for us, granting entrance into relationship with a Holy God. Oh what hope! When we are safe in His shadow, we have no need to fear earthquakes, or fire, or disease, or death. The hope of eternity with the Most High is real, and people need to know it now more than ever. Let's remember what Jesus accomplished to conquer sin and death. What’s in a name? Hope!
